For those of you that I didn’t tell: I’m in Belize, been here since the 26th.
Flew in, the last leg on a Killed-Buddy-Holly Airplane where I could see out the front, scaring myself half to death.
Made a trip to Ming’s Market to stack up on food as I have an apartment rental here.
I do my Taekwondo workout until the floor gets so wet from sweat that I start sliding around. I’m not gonna work on splits. Found a Shotokan Karate school I’ll start working out in next week.
The rest of my life is spent in a hammock.
Tomorrow I go snorkeling for the first time in about twenty years, so that may be more of an adventure than I like.
No bugs except for one big honkin’ roach crawling across the floor. It looked like it might put up a fight, so I let it keep on goin’ out the door.
Still tryin’ to figure out how this special phone service I bought works. Sometimes I get the local number I’m tryin’ for, sometimes I get local music that never ends, sometimes I get a Chinese Laundry/Pizza Delivery service in rural West Virginia … is there anywhere more rural than rural West Virginia … must research this some time … not with an actual visit, mind you.
I’ve yet to determine the difference between water coming out of the hot tap and the water from the cold tap. Doesn’t matter, I can shower in either.
It’s fully light here at 4:00 AM and completely dark by 7:00 PM.
Haven’t read a damn thing from any of the books I brought with me. Truly, I am a hammock slug.
ZOOM works fine. WiFi comes with the apartment.
12:00 Belize time ranges from 12:30 to tomorrow … maybe.
Walking the length of the whole town is less than downtown Ventura.
It’s about 80 degrees all the time here. No blankets on the bed. Golf carts rule.
I’m hydrating like crazy on Coke, Gatorade, water, Arizona Ice Tea, Mojitos wo/alcohol, coconut water, San Pellegrino. I can put away a quart of fluids any time I try.
More news as it doesn’t occur.
